Meet anna miller, lcsw
You already have what it takes to heal.
I’M GLAD YOU’RE HERE.
Hi, I’m Anna Miller, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR certified clinician with over 15 years of clinical experience. I work with adults who often struggle with over-functioning, perfectionism, anxiety and the lingering effects of past trauma. I have specialized training in working with survivors of trauma as well as graduate students and medical trainees and professionals. As a recovering perfectionist myself, I understand how exhausting it can feel to keep pushing through, and I’m here to help you find steadiness and self-compassion.
In addition to providing therapy, I also provide supervision to clinicians in Virginia and California. I am a Virginia Board Approved Supervisor and a California Board Approved Supervisor, supporting other professionals in developing their skills and confidence in clinical practice.
When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on walks with my Australian Shepherd and savoring all the seasons that life on the East Coast brings.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
Your mind and body are responding the best way they know how.
My style
I believe therapy should feel like you—authentic, human and real.
My style is calm, collaborative and transparent. I aim to make therapy feel approachable, with space for reflection, growth and even a little humor along the way.
I integrate evidence-based approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and somatic therapy to regulate your nervous system and help you process difficult experiences.
I’m here to help you better understand your patterns, feel more at ease in your body and develop tools that support lasting change. My goal is to help you feel lighter and more in control over what life brings you.
My guiding principles
Client-Centered
You guide the pace, and you stay in control of your healing journey.
Mind-Body Integration
We work with both your body and mind to understand experiences and support lasting change.
Safety
